Judith Gauthier passes a Diplôme de Fin d'Études (Graduation Diploma) successively in

Music Theory in 1985 and Chamber Music in 1986.

Her piano curriculum is crowned by a

Médaille d'Or (Gold medal) in 1989 and a Prix d'excellence (Distinguished Achievement Award) in 1990.

 

At the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris,

she specializes in Accompaniment and Vocal Conducting.

In this curriculum she passes the Diplôme de Formation Supérieure (Graduation Diploma) with Honors,

and gets a Second Price in Serge Zapolsky's class in 1997.

 

Judith Gauthier then fully dedicates herself to singing.

She is awarded the Diplôme d'Études Musicales de Chant (Diploma in Musical Studies for Singing) with Honors.

 

Taking advantage of her excellent training in languages,

(she can speak English, German and Italian fluently and has advanced knowledge of Russian and Spanish),

she studies for and passes the Certificats d'analyse et de dictions lyriques at CNSMP,

in English, German and Italian.

 

Judith Gauthier meets Ruben Lifschitz with whom she studies the lied and mélodie repertoires.

 

In 1998, she chooses to attend a Postgraduate Vocal Training

at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

She has the opportunity there to sing musicals

(Miss Saïgon, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, ...)

as well as contemporary music with Sarah Walker.

 

Judith Gauthier then becomes a student of Michèle Command and Gabriel Bacquier.

 

She participates in the Concours Européen de Musique de Picardie

and is awarded the Second Price for singers unanimously.

 

In 2001 she wins the Concours International de Mélodie Française de Toulouse,

after which the disc company Maguelone offers to her to sing for a recording.

 

In 2003 she is the recipient of the Premier Grand Prix

of the Concours International de Mélodie Française de Toulouse.

She also wins the Prix SACEM unanimously for her oustanding interpretation of contemporary mélodies.

 

Additionally, she get the Prix ADAMI 2005 in the

Concours International de Chant de Clermont-Ferrant.

 

Judith Gauthier now sings with prestigious conductors:

Stéphane Denève and Christophe Coin (The Magic Flute),

Gergely Vajda and Peter Eötvös (As I crossed a Bridge of Dreams),

Juan Bautista Otero (Martin y Soler's Iphigénie in Aulide),

Marc Minkowski (Bizet's Carmen, Rameau's Platée),

Serge Baudo (Bach, Mozart),

Jean-Christophe Spinosi (Haendel's Alcina),

Christopher Franklin (Rossini's La Gazzetta),

and with famous directors:

Robert Carsen, Laurent Pelly, Thaddeus Strassberger
